Functional Analysis

Professors:
Prof. Dr. Bálint Farkas
Prof. Dr. B. Jacob

Description:
The research group functional analysis is focussed on functional analysis and their application to mathematical systems theory. The system theory of evolution equations is much more involved than that of ordinary differential equations and is of utmost importance for applications: These systems are strongly motivated by applications in such diverse fields as aeronautics, electrical engineering, quantum physics, biology and atmospheric processes.

We regularly offer basic courses in analysis, differential equations and functional analysis. Moreover, there are specialized courses e.g. mathematical systems theory or on advanced topics in functional analysis. We also participate in the education of engineers and teachers.
